Valentin Imperial Maya Resort - Exclusive Review

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Valentin Imperial Maya - Playa Del Carmen, Mexico
My husband and I were here August 14-19,2014 celebrating our 16 year anniversary. We could tell as soon as we walked up this was a luxury all inclusive resort. We were greeted with cold towels and a glass of Champagne. The lobby area was second to none. Even though our rooms were not ready we were seated in a very cozy spot with tables and chairs. This is a great place for couples who need to get away and want to enjoy everything from good food, nice swimming pools or just taking walks on a beautiful beach. The rooms were nice and cleaned  two times a day. Room service was available If you did not feel like coming out for breakfast ,lunch or dinner. The entertainment staff was awesome and worked long hours to make sure everyone was happy, whether you were in the pool or enjoying the night time festivities. This is a place that makes you feel like you are the only one on the resort. The resort is very spacious and there are several areas for guest to relax. My husband and I enjoyed playing pool in one of the many sports bars on the resort, and also just sitting on the private beach before sun down. On our anniversary we were surprised with rose petals all over our bed and a chocolate cake with a bottle of Champagne. The buffet lunches were amazing. The buffet had many options including  freshly cooked, shrimp, fish, or steak. One thing I would recommend is for the men to bring long pants. The restaurants enforce their dinner dress code and men must wear long pants for dinner. Last but not least we had an amazing photo shoot with Lucia on the beach . The pictures looked so professional we had a hard time choosing which ones we were going to purchase. The whole staff was great! Mucho gracias to the staff at the swim up bar, the restaurant servers, entertainment and photo staff. I hope they are all there when we go back. The resort is beautiful and a fabulous top notch adults only, all inclusive destination. I highly recommend this resort for a romantic getaway.

What does the hotel star rating really mean?

At the very least you can expect a hotel to be clean regardless of it's star rating. A lack of stars should never be an indication of how clean a hotel will be. Star ratings should only determine luxury and the amenities that are included with the hotel. Below is an in depth article about hotel star rating.

Jamaica Me Crazy!

I have been asked many times why the frequent return to the island of Jamaica and I have three answers: The People, The People, The People! It is not because of the many All Inclusive resorts which includes a prime location of several Sandals chains. Nor is it the consistent 80 to low 90 degree weather all year round. And for those of you who know me really well it is also not because Jamaica is the home town of the fastest man in the world Usain Bolt J.

Before I tell you what’s not to love about the people of Jamaica let’s talk about the Geography. Jamaica  is the third largest island in the Caribbean. It is 4,213 square miles and sits 90 miles south of Cuba and 118 mile west of Haiti.  Jamaica has about 50 public beaches and many of them are considered the best beaches in the Caribbean.
The People
Jamaica’s motto is Out of Many, One People. The people are genuinely courteous and not just accommodating because it is required in their job description. I have often seen the men greeting other men with a nod and uttering the words “much respect”. During my first trip I had the opportunity to abandon the usual tourist activities and explore the country side with a trusted private family ran transportation service. The ride to the mountains was amazing and the curb side authentic jerk chicken shack was to die for. Needless to say I am just as excited about leaving for Jamaica this year as I was the first time I went.
